Electrolux #splits:The perfect banana split is all relative!

I received an e-mail asking Foodbuzz featured publishers to create their perfect banana splits.  Kelly Ripa and Electrolux have teamed up to spread the word about Ovarian Cancer Research.  Please visit http://kelly confidential.com/foodbuzz make a virtual banana split and Electrolux will donate $1 each to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.

Electrolux and Foodbuzz have also teamed up and will donate $50 to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund for every banana split post by a Featured Publisher.  Please help support this great cause!

Even though my week was already over scheduled, I dropped everything for a few to make these splits.  This cause is so near and dear to my heart!  Barely a year ago my husband lost his Aunt Annie to Ovarian Cancer; she fought so hard for five years.  Her bravery and joy for life was such an inspiration to me.  She always had a smile on her face, always asked you how you were, even though she was in great pain.  Her husband Gus never was never able to start loving life again and passed shortly after her from a massive heart attack.  I believe it was a broken heart!  We didn't just lose one family member to ovarian cancer; we lost two.  I can not implore you ladies enough to get to your doctor for regular check-ups!

When I saw the wording perfect splits, I winced.  I don't take that word lightly, in this house there is no such thing.  I just want healthy and happy children; nothing perfect.  I even had to clear all the junk off the kitchen table to grab a shot.  My girls are teens now, and it's a little harder to get a reaction out of them, but when I laid these splits out in front of them with some of their favorite toppings; they got the biggest smiles on their faces.  My soon to be 13 year old, told me, Mom, "I want to have these for my birthday"!  That means these splits were absolutely perfect to me.

I think this little guy was smiling at me!  Don't they look like little children reaching up to give their mommies a great big hug, if that doesn't make you want to get a check up; I don't know what will.

Enjoy,

Gina
